| This watercolour image was commissioned for the cover of a book about two characters beginning a romance immediately after the WW2. The author wanted the scars of the war to be evident, but not dominant, hence the background. The man has an Auschwitz tattoo on his arm. | For this EP cover I wanted to illustrate the dogma of life’s routine, as expressed in the lyrics of Living For Tomorrow. This is achieved by using repeated images, the industrial motif and the authoritarian looking buildings in the background. The design also related to the theme of the B-side track Machine Z. | An article about the stresses faced by performing musicians required a cartoon. I provided the author with three alternatives, but this was the one she liked. It was published in Classical Music magazine, November 2006. | Sound On Sound magazine publish many recording studio features, often requiring a diagram to show the layout of the room. Over a period of years I developed a distinctive style for these overhead drawings, and the one above is a good example of this, drawn to illustrate a home studio mastering environment. |
